Infant Care

(2 to 17 months)

A safe place for your infant so you feel safe too

Ultimately, we want your child to feel safe, loved, and ready to explore the world.

Conducive environment for every child to feel safe, valued, comfortable, and engaged

We offer warm, welcoming, and supportive classrooms for children of all abilities and backgrounds.

As children grow and change, our educarers will continue to reassess our environment to address your child’s unique needs and encourage the development of their skills and interests.

Safe, Healthy and Nurturing Environment

Infants are drawn to inviting and engaging environments. Our indoor space is thoughtfully designed to:

Allow for safe freedom of movement. Movement supports a child’s growth by allowing them to develop and practise physical and thinking skills and independence.

Promote a healthy environment to decrease the possibility of contracting and spreading illnesses, and enhance a child’s overall well-being.

Create an environment that supports meaningful interactions between caregivers, infants and toddlers.

Support a variety of exploration and routines. For health and safety reasons, the areas for eating, food preparation, sleeping, and diapering are separate from learning areas.

Respond to individual infants by adjusting the environment to each child’s unique preferences, interests, and needs.

Learning Space

We incorporate small areas to facilitate creative expression, development and learning through:

SENSORY PERCEPTION

SMALL-MUSCLE ACTIVITY

LARGE-MOTOR ACTIVITY

Spaces for Play

Our play areas are equipped with a broad range of toys, play equipment and materials to facilitate different types of play.

We have ensured the toys are age-appropriate, washable, non-breakable and non-toxic for your child’s safety.

The spaces are also configured to support your child’s development. Infants can easily grasp for toys and pull themselves up with ease while practising to stand or walk.

Napping Room

The napping room is separate from the play and eating areas and is kept safe, clean, and conducive for sleep.

Each infant has their own crib fitted with nametags and notes on his or her developmental milestones.

The cribs are also see-through so our educarers are able to ensure the child’s safety at all times.

We strive to maintain a consistent bedtime routine to allow the infants and toddlers to settle, relax and ease into sleep.

Tailored Curriculum for Each Child

Our curriculum is developed with a child’s growth in mind. Age-appropriate practices and activities are incorporated to support the growth of their skills in various domains – gross and fine motor, cognitive, language and social development.

At the same time, we take into account the individual needs and temperaments of each child.
The curriculum includes:

CLOSE, CARING RELATIONSHIPS WITH A PRIMARY CAREGIVER

PREDICTABLE ROUTINES AND ENVIRONMENTS

HOME-CENTRE PARTNERSHIP

HANDS-ON EXPLORATION AND PLAY

Group Activities

We enhance children’s growth with development-boosting activities.

Circle time

A fun time for the infants and toddlers to connect with each other and their caregivers. They come together to sing songs, read books, play games or engage in art or sensory activity. This encourages the development of social skills by providing daily, structured social interactions. It also provides opportunities to enhance their language and gross motor skills.

Outdoor play

We promote outdoor learning for our children. Our educarers make provision for outdoor play every day, if the weather permits. Playing outdoors allow infants to learn about different surroundings and enabling them to feel more comfortable with the world around them. As for toddlers, they are more keen to test out their growing physical skills.

Bonding time

Infants in our care get lots of one-on-one time with their educarors. This cultivates a strong relationship and lays a strong foundation for learning during the infant and toddler years.

Teacher-child Ratio

A smaller group size is preferred to maintain quality care and positive staff-child interaction.

Age of Infant Maximum Staff-Child Ratio
2 months – 18 months 1:5
