Childcare
(18 months to 6 years)
Welcome to our childcare!
Your child has reached another developmental milestone!
Our early childhood care and education programmes focus on laying academic foundation in literacy and numeracy, and nurturing social and emotional skills in each of our children to prepare them for primary school and beyond.
Taking a holistic approach to teaching, we support and nurture all areas of children’s development and learning – from their physical well-being, social-emotional and cognitive skills, to literacy, math, and science.
We encourage children’s learning and thinking by being responsive to their understanding, interests, and abilities, allowing them to deepen their natural curiosity and foster an eagerness to learn.
Conducive environment for every child to feel safe, comfortable, valued and engaged
We offer warm, welcoming, and supportive classrooms for children of all abilities and backgrounds.

Safe, Healthy and Nurturing Environment
Safety is a priority in all aspects of our childcare facilities and our day-to-day operations.
From the layout of the rooms and placement of desks, to the materials used in craft-making, safety is our top priority for a safe environment.
Through a consistent routine, we achieve a clean and conducive space for the children. After each activity, the children and educators are tasked to tidy up together, instilling discipline and responsibility.
Healthy Eating Habits
Every child at 7oaks receives nutritious meals while under our care. Our customised healthy meal plan takes into account the age group as well as personal allergies and nutritional requirements. All our childcare centres have been accredited as Healthy Pre-Schools (Platinum).
The Healthy Preschool Accreditation Framework by the Health Promotion Board (HPB) accords the accreditation to preschools which have comprehensive school health promotion practices for students, parents and staff. To ensure proper food handling, all our employees involved in preparing meals and snacks are properly certified in food handling.
Well-designed Environment to Increase Learning
Our classroom space is divided into 5 learning corners. These include the Language and Literacy Centre, Numeracy Centre, Dramatic Play Centre, Discovery of the World Centre and Mini-Atelier.
The environment of our classrooms are seen as the third educator, a space for providing numerous opportunities for the children to explore, experiment, develop their ideas, and test their theories.
When you walk into our classrooms, you will see children and educators working together in a productive surrounding. There are children constructively engaged and educators busy observing, facilitating, and challenging them.
Our educarers design exciting learning opportunities for children on a daily basis, using the classroom or outdoor environment to facilitate these activities.
Our educators also take into account the children’s interests to introduce new learning materials that can spark their excitement, and initiate new learning experiences.
Our Programmes at a Glance
Our programmes support and guide children in all areas of their learning and development and taking into account each child’s interests, strengths, experiences, culture and needs.

Playgroup
(18 months - 2+ yrs)
Our playgroup programme helps your child develop through hands-on learning and fun experiences. Activities are focused on developing the child’s gross motor and basic fine motor skills; emotional security and social awareness. The foundation for language skills and bilingualism in English and Malay is formed through stories, songs, and sensory-rich experiences.

Pre-Nursery
(3 years)
This programme offers many of the same aspects as our Playgroup programme, but has been adapted to meet the needs of slightly older children to further stretch and challenge them. Children will work towards exploring further developmental milestones and independence.

Nursery
(4 years)
Our playgroup programme helps your child develop through hands-on learning and fun experiences. Activities are focused on developing the child’s gross motor and basic fine motor skills; emotional security and social awareness. The foundation for language skills and bilingualism in English and Malay is formed through stories, songs, and sensory-rich experiences.

Kindergarten 1
(5 years)
This programme emphasises the importance of reading and writing in relation to language and numeracy. They will engage in a series of interactive activities, multi-sensory games and songs designed to reinforce key concepts they learn in class.

Kindergarten 2
(6 years)
At this level, we emphasise on developing language, literacy and numeracy skills to prepare children to enter primary school with confidence. Our educators also help to prepare the children with the right behaviours and attitude needed for a smooth transition to primary school.
Preschool Curriculum
Tailored Curriculum for Each Child
Our programme aims to support the psychomotor, social-emotional, linguistic and cognitive development of children aged 18 months to 6 years-old, building self-care skills and preparing them for primary school education.
We hope to instill in our children the key knowledge, skills and dispositions so they are able to learn with joy and enthusiasm, preparing them for school and for life.
Adopting an Integrated Approach to Teaching & Learning Through Themes
Through a thematic approach, we design integrated learning experiences to help children make connections, thereby developing a deeper and broader understanding of the world around them.
When children learn through themes, they are learning in context. They learn about topics that are meaningful and relevant to their own lives, which improves their understanding and enables them to apply their knowledge to solve real-life problems.

Our Approach
Play.Explore.Experience.Learn (P.E.E.L.)
Built on the works of both classical and contemporary studies, Play.Explore.Experience.Learn, a learning paradigm for active education. Action and children go hand-in-hand after all.
Learning through play, exploration and experience is an approach that has been the stronghold of our preschool programmes, ranging from playgroup to the kindergarten levels. Play is the vehicle where children learn and where children can play in many ways. Children play when they interact with objects in the environment, their friends in cooperative play to follow rules and lastly when imagining or role playing various characters in stories. Playful learning experiences also contributes towards positive growth and milestones development in children.
Our Approach
iTeach Principles
The iTeach principles guides our educators in the planning, designing and implementation of meaningful and relevant learning experiences for the children.

Learning Areas
These are the six learning areas that children should know and be able to do after completing kindergarten education:
Aesthetics and Creative Expression (ACE)
We divide our ACE into 2 different areas:
Art & Craft which provides children with opportunities to develop and display their creative talents and motor skills.
Music & Movement that encourages children to dramatize, mime and role-play, to move and dance to music as well as sing along, to interact and develop self-esteem.
Language and Literacy
As children are naturally curious, we provide opportunities for our children to explore and discover how things work and ask questions. The goal of our science activities is not to memorize facts but rather how to gain knowledge through observation, experimentation and play.
Motor Skills Development
In our curriculum, we divide the MSD into 2 different skills:
Fine motor skills which involve movement of the smaller muscle groups in the child’s hand, fingers and wrists.
Gross motor skills which involve movement of the larger muscle groups, like the arm and legs.
Discovery of The World
As children are naturally curious, we provide opportunities for our children to explore and discover how things work and ask questions. The goal of our science activities is not to memorize facts but rather how to gain knowledge through observation, experimentation and play.
Numeracy
Numeracy is the ability to apply maths concepts in all areas of life as it involves understanding numbers, counting, solving number problems, measuring, sorting, noticing patterns, adding and subtracting numbers and so on. Without the use of worksheets, our planned activities are fun and interesting.
Social and Emotional Development
Children’s social- emotional development affects their ability to have successful school and life outcomes. As such, we have embedded opportunities to enhance our children’s social-emotional learning into our daily activities and routines.

Teacher-child Ratio
Our staff-to-child ratio for each programme follows the guideline set by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA).
